M is for Missy Frost #atozchallenge

M is for Missy Frost and I'm Missy. I'm happy I was chosen to tell you about myself for the A to Z challenge. I'm a native New Orleanian.  Sarah Frances, Abby and I all went to college together and were sorority sisters. That's how I ended up in book 2, Peril in the Bayou. At least, that's part of the reason. Just for visual reference sake, Scarlett says she would like Heather Locklear to play me. She says only Heather has the body and enough sass to be Missy.

I'm an interior designer and I love working on these beautiful New Orleans homes. There is such beauty in the architecture, the styles, the colors and the traditions. And the antiques. Oh la la. The combination of the French and Spanish influences. Did you know that really there's no such thing in New Orleans as a living room? Yeah, we don't call it a great room or family room either. It's a parlor. And you just won't find a television set in a parlor. Parlors of for entertaining guests. Televisions belong in, yes, that's right, a television room. Brilliant, isn't it?

Anyway, I hear you wondering how an interior designer ended up in a major role of a book about solving a crime. Well, my goddaughter, Lily Grace was kidnapped. Then her father, the mayor was killed. That would be the other part of the reason I ended up in book 2.

It was a terrible time. I love New Orleans and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. But there are some bad apples here. We (my best friend Sarah Frances and I) found ourselves enmeshed with corrupt voodoo practicing cops and a drug lord. The most unbelievable part was how Cole Grey ended up in the middle of everything. But you can get that whole story when you read the book.

I love football and dogs. I don't have a dog right now, but I have a feeling that may change soon. I never married and don't have children of my own, that's why Lily Grace is so important to me. So lots of bad things happened, and some really good things too. Maybe my spinster status will change as well as the no dog thing. Do you girls have any idea how drop dead handsome a U.S. Marshal can be?  I didn't know. I feel a little uncomfortable fawning over a younger man. Okay, no, not really.

I haven't made much of an appearance in book 3 yet as all the men are in Memphis trying to solve a crime and what would a spinster interior designer have to offer. Wait just a damn minute! I had something to contribute the last time. Maybe I just need to take myself to Memphis and shed a little female logic on the problem. All the other women are traipsing around Ecuador, so it's up to me to make sure these guys do it right. Afterall, Scarlett hasn't finished the book, it's not published yet. Anything can happen, right?

It was nice to meet you, I enjoyed talking to you, but I need to make some travel reservations. I think I'll give Sarah Frances, Abby, and Lily Grace a call and tell them my plans too. See you soon!

This is Scarlett. I want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my blog. It really means a lot to me. But now my problem is just when I thought I had the storyline for Terror on the Bluff all wrapped up...I see a change coming. I better go arrange for someone to pick Missy up at the airport. I'll let you know as soon as I work all this out and have a publication date for Terror.

    1. Well the marshall is a younger man and if they got together it just might be scandalous! A dog wouldn't be scandalous though, that would just be cute.
