Hello, I'm Court McAllister. Yes, I know this is the April A to Z blog challenge, and I know today is April the 2nd and thereby this blog is about the letter B. But, I know the letter C will be all about that psycho Cole. If you were here for the challenge last year you read about Cole. Or if you read books one or two in the Providence in Ecuador series. And I thought you should get a chance to meet me. I star in the third book, Terror on the Bluff which hasn't been released yet, so for today, you can call me Bear. My wife calls me Bear.
What my creator- the author thinks my nickname means. |
I think Scarlett Braden (our author and this blog's owner) is letting me get away with this because she likes me. I think she secretly thinks I'm handsome. But don't tell her I said so, okay? She has released me from my confidentiality agreement regarding a few things about me.
What my employees think my nickname means. |
I've been married to an Irish descendant lass for over twenty years. Her name is Colleen. I owe a lot to that lady. But hey, let's keep that just between us too. It's because of Colleen that I became an expert in explosives. Now I have my own business and my partner is Jake, the black lab. Scarlett says if she had to cast me in a movie she would like Richard Gere to play me. She calls me a silver-tongued devil, but only Colleen and my creator know what a softie I am.
What my wife knows my nickname means. Remember this is one of our little secrets. |
I'm a contented kind of guy, life's been good to me. My needs are simple. Time to relax after a hard day's work with my canine companions at my side, a finger or two or three of Jamison's by the fire sitting with the woman I love. Oh and just one more thing...a mute button for that loquacious beauty I married. Darn, now that's three secrets you need to keep for me to keep me out of the dog house and Jake from getting my place in the bed. That's the thing about being a fictional character, the product of a feminine mind. It's just one more lady to be in trouble with.
Thanks for coming by. It was a pleasure to meet you. Watch for me in Terror on the Bluff. You can skip tomorrow if you want, I happen to know that evil Cole will be here from ...well I won't say where he'll be visiting from, but I will tell you...no way no how will he show up in MY story!

Thanks Sasha! Praise from another writer is so awesome. Cole will be here Monday. I'm sure hoping we have a whole month of great characters.
DeleteNice to meet you, Bear. Oh, your wife probably didn't like the mute button comment too much. Are you in the doghouse with Jake tonight? You seem absolutely sure Cole won't show up in your story. hmmm? Whispers to Scarlet- Richard Gere. Yum!
ReplyDeleteHaha No Robin, after over 20 years of marriage, that's a tired old joke between us. And Yes maam, I'm certain that weasel won't be showing up. - Court

DeleteGreat bear pics. Now that you told me not to come back for C, I'm curious. Very sneaky.
ReplyDeleteLovely to meet you Bear. I too want to find out about Cole as well. Bear does look cuddly but most bears do but I wouldn't want to try it. D'you know what to do when a bear charges you? Pay it.
ReplyDeleteGreat joke! I'll have to remember that. Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog.
DeleteNice to meet you. I met a bear on a hike once and had to run. I know I wasn't supposed to but oh well it seemed the best idea at the time.
ReplyDeletewww.lorihenriksen.com
I think it would be incredibly hard not to run. I'm pretty sure I would take off too. Thanks for coming by and reading my blog.
DeleteScarlett, this is brilliant! I love it!
ReplyDeleteNice concept you have here, letting your characters talk - I love it!
