J is for Jake #atozchallenge

J is for Jake

I've heard from many of you that you love the characters talking with you in first person. You like them telling you their stories. But Jake can't do that. Jake is one of a kind and a really special fella, but he can't talk. There's nothing wrong with him, actually, he is pretty extraordinary. But Jake is a dog.

I selected Jake for the "J" blog because he is unique. Jeremy Grey could have come by, Jenny Grey could have been here. Jac Theisman would have loved to talk to you. But Jake is fun. So I will tell you a little about him and share some photos. He appears in the third book of the series, Terror on the Bluff.

Jake is a black labrador.

Jake's human is Court McAllister. You met him in the "B" blog and Court named his business after his partner, Jake.

Anyone attending the academy receives a pawtographed picture of Jake, and upon completion and graduation, they receive a water bottle with Jake's photo. A water bottle because Jake only drinks water from the bottle. No tap water in a bowl for this dog.

He takes his job at the academy very seriously. You see, Jake is one of the best bomb or explosives dogs in the world. He helps train all the new recruits. When he is working he is all business, but there's plenty of fun to be had when off duty. And Jake has lots of friends. Both the human and canine varieties.

Taking a break.

All professional dogs must maintain a groomed appearance.

An academy recruit training.

Jake's best buddy Dasher --- working.
Jake's sister Lucy.

We hope you enjoyed meeting Jake, and we really appreciate you reading our blog. If you are following the A to Z you can find the other participants here.
Tomorrow Abby's son Kendall will be here. Come by to see what he says about his mom running away from home.

  1. Bearing in mind the number of blogs written by cats and dogs, I am surprised Jake didn't write his own. Lucy is my favourite though, I love German Shepherds. I owned 3 at once some years ago.

  2. HAHA I try to keep things as real as possible. Even in my fiction. I prefer the shepherds too. Lucy also has an active roll in Terror on the Bluff. Interesting fact: Jake and Lucy really are my friend's dogs...and Jake Really only drinks from water bottles. Thanks for coming by!
